  • Trans Canada Brewing Company’s Brewery, Taproom, and Store is in the heart of Winnipeg’s vibrant southwest corner and is proudly 100% independent and Manitoba‑owned. We’re entering an exciting chapter at TCB, and we’re looking for a motivated individual with a passion for craft beer and great food to join our Kitchen Team. This role is primarily focused on back‑of‑house operations, supporting our kitchen with food preparation, cooking, plating, and maintaining a clean, efficient workspace.

    While the position is kitchen‑focused, you will also support guest‑facing duties as needed, including greeting guests, serving food and beer, assisting with retail purchases, and educating visitors about our products. As part of a dynamic, growth‑oriented organization, you’ll also have opportunities to contribute to various activities, events, and initiatives across the brewery and taproom. 

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Perform high‑quality food preparation and kitchen tasks efficiently with minimal supervision.

    • Maintain consistent food quality, portioning, and presentation standards.

    • Support smooth kitchen operations during service, including prep, cooking, plating, and cleaning.

    • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen, storage areas, and equipment.

    • Follow all food‑safety and workplace‑safety procedures.

    • Ensure timely communication with the front‑of‑house team to support great guest experiences.

    • Handle routine kitchen inventory tasks, including receiving, labeling, and storing products.

    • Work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment and be open to performing other duties as assigned.

    • Assist with on‑site and off‑site food‑service events as needed.

    Required Qualifications

    • Motivated team player with a strong work ethic.

    • Genuine interest in culinary work and kitchen operations.

    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

    • Ability to work a flexible schedule.

    • Weekends, evenings, and holidays are required.

    • Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for up to 8 hours a day.

    • Valid Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain).

    • Valid driver’s license (for events, deliveries, or off‑site support).

It is an exciting time at TCB, and we are looking for a motivated individual who is passionate about craft beer to join our Taproom Team. In addition to the position’s core responsibilities, you will be expected to be involved with the many activities and initiatives present with a start-up, growth-oriented organization.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Provide a high level of service to Taproom guests with a polite and positive attitude.

    • Educate our Taproom guests on our brands and products.

    • Maintain cleanliness throughout the Taproom and General Store.

    • Handle routine purchasing transactions, which include operating a POS terminal.

    • Work in a team environment and open to performing other duties as assigned.

    • Assisting with on-site and off-site special events, if needed.

    Required Qualifications

    • Strong interest and passion for craft beer.

    • Excellent customer service skills.

    • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and some holidays

    • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the roll (i.e. Navigating the taproom, carrying and stocking product)

    • Valid Smart Choices Certification is required for the roll, TCB offers assistance in obtaining this certification if required.

    • Motivated team player.
