Dealcoholized beer is brewed just like any regular beer. Once fermentation is complete, we carefully remove the alcohol and are left with the same flavour, character, and recipe you know and love, all the taste, aroma, and mouthfeel remain, just without the buzz.

Dealcoholized beer is brewed just like any regular beer. Once fermentation is complete, we carefully remove the alcohol and are left with the same flavour, character, and recipe you know and love, all the taste, aroma, and mouthfeel remain, just without the buzz.
Dealcoholization Process
Gentle Nanofiltration (a membrane that the beer passes through to have the alcohol filtered out): Instead of using heat- which can dull the bright fruit flavours- we use an Alchemator system. This system is how the Nanofiltration takes place. Using high pressure and microscopic “nano filters,” we take the full strength brew and gently separate the alcohol and water from the beers essential ingredients and are left with a thick, syrup like substance.
Our Dealcoholized Bluebeary Ale starts its life exactly like our flagship Bluebeary Ale. We brew the full strength recipe you know and love, allowing it to ferment naturally to 5% ABV to develop its signature character.

Pure Refreshment: To maintain peak-freshness, we replace the extracted liquids from the remaining syrup with ultra-pure, oxygen-free water. We circulate the beer through this process until the alcohol is gone, but the bold blueberry aroma and crisp malt finish remain.

Pasteurization: After the brew is complete, our team starts the pasteurization process. Following the canning process, the filled and sealed aluminum cans moves onto a conveyor belt. While travelling along the tunnel, the cans are sprayed with progressively hot water, then held at peak their temperature for minuets to achieve the target pasteurization units. Once ready, the cans begin their cool down process to prevent thermal shock and excessive heating.
