Fermentation Monitoring Technician

Schedule: Weekends - 8 Hours/Week


We are seeking an upbeat, forward-thinking Fermentation Monitoring Technician to work directly with the Quality Leader in conjunction with the Trans Canada Brewing Team. The Quality technician participates in performing, analyzing and maintaining data from all processes related to the production (brewhouse, cellar, and packaging) of Trans Canada products. The main duty of the Fermentation Monitoring Technician will be the analysis/monitoring and documentation of in-process/fermenting beer.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Maintaining sanitary and safety procedures throughout the plant
  • Assist quality personnel with needed weekend tasks including but not limited to (items in bold will be the main focus of this position):
    • Fermentation Documentation/Testing (pH, yeast counts)
    • Bottle fill heights
    • Carbonation testing
    • Media Preparation
    • Aseptic sampling of wort and beer
    • Microbiological analysis of wort and beer
    • Color testing
    • Haze testing
    • Sensory Analysis
    • Data Entry
  • Maintaining cleanliness of laboratory 


  • Willingness to work closely as a team
  • Ability to operate with minimal supervision
  • General knowledge of brewing process and industry is a plus
  • Highly detail oriented while managing multiple tasks
  • Ability to communicate cross-functionally in order achieve daily objectives
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Relevant work and or education in the sciences is preferred. Current Students are encouraged to apply
